With his 100% APCC crew composed of Enora Percheron, Alexandre Declerck, Armel Le Carrer and Benjamin Pajusco, Tom Foucher took second place during the French Espoirs match-racing championships which took place last weekend in the bay of Angels in Antibes.
Defeated 3-0 in final
In the final, the Nantes residents were beaten (3-0) by the local Ange Delerce (SR Antibes), reigning Youth World Champion. Tom Foucher and his crew, who finished in second place during the round robin, reached the final after a suspenseful match against Marin Micoulot who had gone flawless during the round robin.
It was in the last meters of the last race of the semi-final that Tom Foucher secured his place in the final after repairing a penalty just in front of the finish line which he crossed with a few centimeters ahead of his opponent. The final was much more difficult for the young people from Nantes who were clearly dominated in the three races.
Four other Loire crews in the Top 10
Four other crews from Loire-Atlantique took part in these France Espoirs championships. Victorien Éon (FCJ Pornic) took 7e place just in front of the three SNO Nantes crews, Jean-Philippe Boudard (8e), Robin Chantrelle (9e) and Anatole Thomas (10e).
