No respite for the D1 ACFF during the international break. We were playing this evening on the French-speaking grounds!
The leader, RAEC Mons, even hosted Binche for a regional derby which largely turned in favor of the Dragons. With in particular a hat-trick from their star and home scorer Dylan De Belder, the Montois crushed the outclassed Binchois (5-0).
This victory leaves Mons quietly in the lead, while the second, Olympic Charleroi, also did the job. The Mastiffs in fact dominated the penultimate, UR Namur (3-0), who missed the opportunity to come back to Binche.
But for the first time, the Blackbirds may have to look… behind them. Indeed, when we no longer believed it, the red lantern, the SL 16, took the three points, and on the move with that! The young people from Standard won (0-2) against those from Union Saint-Gilloise.
A first (!) victory of the season, at least without counting the victory canceled for administrative reasons against Rochefort, which brings SL 16 to 6 points behind UR Namur. There is still a long way to go for the Liège U23s.
Let us also note the great victory of Tubize-Braine (3-1) against Tournai, which allows the Blanc & Or to temporarily overtake Excelsior Virton. The Gaumais play this Sunday away at Stockay and will therefore be under pressure.
