A clash within the XV of France?

While many questions arise about the sidelining of Matthieu Jalibert, the UBB opener would not only have friends within the XV of , particularly since his defeat of Grégory Alldritt during a Top 14 match.

This is the great enigma of the moment concerning the XV of France. But why does Matthieu Jalibert play so little? While he is considered a reference to his position in the Top 14, the UBB opener was until now No. 3 among the Blues. Fabien Galthié preferred Romain Ntamack, which we can understand, and Thomas Ramos, which was more debatable, because the native prefers to play in No. 15.

The explanations were as follows: better chemistry between Ramos and Antoine Dupont, teammates in Toulouse, and a finisher role which would better suit Jalibert in the eyes of Galthié and his staff. But now for this France-All Blacks, “MJ” is completely relegated off the scoresheet. If there were to be a problem for Ramos, it would be Dupont who would fall to 10.

Jalibert took it badly, asking to leave Marcoussis, where he was a reservist, to return to his club. And Galthié did not seem to like this request. « What is important is the determination of the moment, launched the coach when he was brought to the subject. We want to identify the strong players. Strong in skills, but also strong in character to get through happy times and difficult times. (…) Matthieu will continue with the French team… if he wishes of course. »

Jalibert, a chambering on Alldritt which goes badly

Fabien Galthié suggests that Jalibert's behavior is not satisfactory, that he displays a lack of motivation. But this lack of desire is undoubtedly justified by the lack of confidence placed in him on the part of the staff. And how to explain it? Sportingly, it's complicated, because the majority of consultants praise Jalibert's qualities. So is there anything else? A non-sporting problem, a problem within the group?

Le Parisien launched a lead on Friday, writing that
“the opening half (…) does not only have internal support, in particular since his capture in the Top 14 in May of Grégory Alldritt, captain of the Blues in the absence of Dupont and a long-time friend of the latter. » What if that was it?
