The Alpine team created a surprise this Saturday during qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix by placing its two cars in the top ten on the starting grid for the tenth round of the 2024 Formula 1 world championship.

This Sunday in Barcelona, ​​Pierre Gasly will start from seventh place on the starting grid for the Spanish Grand Prix, while his teammate Esteban Ocon – qualified ninth – will start from eighth place following a penalty imposed on the driver Red Bull Sergio Perez.

The French manufacturer’s team – which nevertheless expected to be in difficulty on the Catalan track at the start of the weekend – signed its best result in qualifying since the start of the 2024 campaign.
