To compensate for the departure of Kylian Mbappé, PSG wants to recruit in all positions, including midfield. With this in mind, the Parisian leaders would have a crush on João Neves, who is currently playing Euro 2024 with Portugal. Benfica would also have taken action to retain their 19-year-old prodigy by offering him a contract extension. But this proposal would not really suit the Portuguese nugget.
The transfer window should be quite interesting to follow on the side of PSG. The capital club intends to compensate for the departure of Kylian Mbappé by recruiting massively and in all positions this summer. The Parisian leaders would particularly like to get their hands on a new midfielder. And with this in mind, Luis Campos would like to focus on youth.

Indeed, the PSG football advisor would have flashed on João Neves. According to information from Record, Benfica would have offered a contract extension to João Neves. The Lisbon club would have notably offered the 19-year-old prodigy to double his salary. However, this would only increase the Portuguese international up to €1M per year, since he currently only receives €500,000 per season. Benfica expected that this offer would suit him. But João Neves would have finally rejected this proposal, considering that it did not sufficiently reflect his role in the squad while other less important players are better paid than him.
