Olivier Renard doesn’t really have the right to make mistakes in January. The new sporting director of the Brussels club will have to find players capable of bringing a real plus to David Hubert’s group.
The big priority is obviously the recruitment of a new central defender. For the moment, the Simic – Jorgensen pair is doing the best they can, but it is clearly not enough for a club like Anderlecht. Concerning Jan Vertonghen, he should be back soon, but at what level will he return? Difficult to predict.
Taha Altikardes
According to Ekrem Konur, Anderlecht have decided to reactivate a track open during the last summer transfer window. Indeed, the Mauves would still be interested in Taha Altikardes, a 21-year-old Turkish defender playing for Göztepe.
Followed by many European clubs
To have a chance of signing this player, Anderlecht will have to put their hands in their pocket. Indeed, Göztepe is aware that his young player is followed by many clubs. Genk would be on the file, as would Lyon, Torino, Feyenoord, Union Berlin and Mainz.
According to Transfermarkt, Altikardes is linked to Göztepe until June 2028 and has an estimated value of €3.1 million. The Turkish club could, however, ask for almost double this sum to release their player.
