Women’s Volleyball: the VNVB marches on Dresden (0-3) and will go to Maribor in the round of 16 of the CEV Cup

The overheated atmosphere from the Margon Arena did not destabilize the VNVB. The Panthers brilliantly qualified for the round of 16 of the CEV Cup, defeating Dresden, 0-3. Author of an almost perfect match, as in the first leg (3-1), the VNVB continued, despite the value of the German team leader of its championship and accustomed to European competitions. Led by a great Vasquez in the first set, the Vandoperians quickly imposed their game, first in defense thanks to an impervious block, before punishing the Germans in attack (22-25).

The second set is even more remarkable from the daughters of André Sa. By continuing its recital, the VNVB pushes Dresden which is obliged to abdicate under the pressure of the panthers, whose collective strength and emotional stability work wonders (18-25). Qualified, at 0-2, after the result of the first leg (3-1), the Vandoperiennes continued their demonstration during the third set: the coach, André Sa, then called on his bench to finish the job (17-25) . This collective success highlights the qualities of this team which is far from having explored its full potential.
