In the world of sumo, it stands out. The Japanese Kosei Motomura is only 1.60 m tall and weighs only 68 kg. However, according to RMC Sport, the wrestler, only 16 years old, is presented as the new prodigy of Japanese sumo.

As proof, he managed to beat an opponent weighing 100 kg more than him. A performance he achieved during the grand sumo tournament in Fukuoka, Japan. It took only seconds for Kosei Motomura to push the experienced 39-year-old Hikaru Amamidake out of the circle.

Professional for a few months

More mobile and quick, the young sumo was not impressed by the imposing size and 168 kg of his opponent. Although lighter, Kosei Motomura showed his power by knocking out his competitor. According to our colleagues, the young man is ranked 83rd in the “Jonidan” division, the second lowest ranking division for sumo wrestlers. He made his professional debut last May.

Unlike other martial arts and combat sports, there is no weight category in sumo. This is what made this visually stunning opposition possible.
