Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi took part, Monday, November 11, in the official inauguration of the academy of the club in which he plays, Paris Saint-Germain, now present at Tamaris. In this southern suburb of Casablanca, the launch of the PSG Academy was announced last August, after the opening of that in Rabat. Yesterday, the ceremony was attended by budding players, girls and boys, aged 4 to 18, in addition to the 2022 World Cup semi-finalist and Olympic bronze medalist.
Led by trainer Daoud Boulanger, the initiative makes it possible to disseminate PSG’s training methodology to young people in Morocco, in an environment conducive to their personal and sporting development: football fields, training and high-end facilities, all covering a central dimension of creation and support for young football talents.
In Tamaris, the club announces that the academy has more than 300 young people already registered. On the occasion of the official inauguration, Achraf Hakimi kicked off the first training session. For the PSG defender, “it’s much more than just a project”. For him, it is “a vision of commitment to the development of children [son] country”. Beyond football, the idea for him is in fact to allow the existence of “a vibrant space where each child has the opportunity to grow, to flourish and to nourish their dreams”.
Through Achraf Hakimi’s charitable foundation, the club sponsored the subscriptions of ten children in poverty, to allow them to have a place at the PSG Academy in Tamaris.
In total, PSG has more than 200 club academies, across 22 countries and on four continents.
