The duo formed by Khalil Outaleb and Reda El Amrani won the first stage of the Open Padel Tour on Sunday in Casablanca, beating in the final the team made up of Mohamed El Alami and Gonzales Herrera.

Third place went to the duo Walid Bennani-Reda Fertat.

Among the ladies, the title was won by the duo Ghita Aatiq-Oumaima Aziz, while second place went to the team of Samia Ahssicen and Zineb El Houari. Abla El Kadiri and Lina Bennani were satisfied with the third step of the podium.

The director of the Open Padel Tour, Chams El Alami, indicated that the tournament saw the participation of nearly 100 athletes among the best in the country, specifying that this sporting event mainly aims to offer Moroccan players the opportunity to win more points and raise their level of competition.

The Open Padel Tour also intends to further promote this discipline, which has become one of the most popular sports globally, she continued, affirming that padel enjoys great popularity at the national level.

For his part, Khalil Outaleb expressed his joy after winning the title alongside his teammate Reda El Amrani, at the same time praising the high technical level of the players who participated in the tournament.

He noted the intensity of the competition demonstrated by the participants, which allowed the public present to follow matches of great rivalry and exceptional quality.

For her part, Ghita Aatiq, winner of the women’s tournament with her teammate Oumayma Aziz, also underlined the growing interest of women in this discipline, highlighting that padel is experiencing great expansion in Morocco and that the number of participants, in especially women, is constantly increasing.

The 1st edition of this sporting event, initiated by the national sports organization PadelLab, under the aegis of the Royal Moroccan Federation (FRMT) and in coordination with the Racing Universitaire de Casablanca (RUC), saw the participation of 40 teams in the men’s category, while 16 teams competed in the women’s category.

It should be noted that the next padel tournaments will take place throughout the 2024/2025 sports season.
