Paris Saint-Germain celebrated this Monday the official opening of its new football academy in Morocco, in Casablanca.
“On the occasion of this milestone event, Achraf Hakimi, emblematic PSG defender and figure of Moroccan football, honored this memorable day with his presence, bringing inspiration and pride to the children of the Academy as well as to the Moroccan fans of the club Parisian,” indicates the club in a press release.
Established since last September in Tamaris, the PSG Academy Maroc offers training to young Moroccans, girls and boys aged 4 to 18. The aim is to offer them high-end training and facilities inspired by Paris-Saint-Germain’s training methodology.
“The links between Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco translate into a real common fervor for football. Morocco is the 10th country in terms of PSG supporters on social networks, with 4.9 million followers. The opening of this Academy in Morocco thus further strengthens this unique link between Paris Saint-Germain and this land passionate about football,” adds the press release.
“I see myself in them again”
To date, the PSG Academy Maroc has 300 young people. They had the honor of meeting Achraf Hakimi, star of PSG and the national team, who kicked off the first training session.
