The Pittsburgh Penguins recalled Quebec forward Samuel Poulin from their Wilkes-Barre/Scranton farm club in the American Hockey League on Monday.
The Penguins also placed forward Kevin Hayes on injured reserve with an upper-body injury. The American’s state of health will be reassessed weekly.
Poulin had an excellent start to the season in the American League with 3 goals and 6 assists in 11 games. The son of former hockey player Patrick Poulin has 1 assist in 6 games in the National Hockey League since the start of his career.
Michkov finds his place
After being left out of the last two games by coach John Tortorella, Philadelphia Flyers forward Matvei Michkov will return to Thursday night against the San Jose Sharks.
In 13 games since the start of the campaign, the Russian player has scored four goals and collected six assists, while having a differential of -8.
Former Canadian Ryan Poehling will also be back in the Flyers lineup on Monday. The 25-year-old American has collected five assists in 12 games since the start of the season. Poehling’s name was placed on injured reserve last Wednesday.
Furthermore, defenseman Jamie Drysdale and forward Morgan Frost will be left out against the Sharks.
