What do Kalle Rovanperä, Sébastien Ogier, Sébastien Loeb, Petter Solberg, Colin McRae and Tommi Mäkinen have in common? All are or have been rally drivers. All have also won at least one world champion title, some several like Sébastien.
But another point in common unites them all: that of having been lucky enough to have tried an F1 car during their career. Kalle Rovanperä is the new kid on this list after being offered the opportunity to drive the RB8, the car with which Red Bull scored the Drivers/Constructors double, driven by Sebastian Vettel, in 2012.
« A superb dayhe smiled. I’ve done quite a few laps and I’ve been looking forward to trying an F1 car for a long time, so it was really cool to finally be able to do it. The day went well with excellent sensations. Physically, an F1 car is quite different. There are a lot more lateral forces. The car brakes a lot more and turns more. The rider feels a difference, there are a lot more g-forces and the grip is incredible. »
