After the match in the summit clash against FC Zurich (1-1), Servette FC retains its place in the final four which leads the way in the Super League…

Servette and FC Zurich played to a 1-goal draw on Saturday in Geneva during the summit clash; the visitors took the lead through Krasniqi, Cognat managed to equalize just before the end of the 1st half. The Servettians had the best chances, but they could also have capitulated at the end of the game.

In the standings, FC Zurich is at the top of the standings with one point ahead of a trio made up of FC Basel, winner of Yverdon in -Vaudois (4-1) also on Saturday, FC Lugano beaten on Sunday in Bern by Young Boys (1-2) and Servette.

Despite the slight disappointment of the points lost against FCZ, positive lessons can be learned when approaching the pose of the national team: the garnet eleven has progressed a lot in defense. After the thirteen goals conceded in the first seven matches, there were only six capitulations in the following seven matches.

Among the strengths of the SFC: cohesion. The hard core of the team has been present since the last season in the Challenge League and has climbed the ranks one by one to reach the point of playing leading roles for two years…

Despite the presence of many experienced players, the Servettian ensemble is under construction. Proof of this is the arrival of ever more young players joining the first team.

It remains to mention the Geneva star player this season: Derek Kutesa, a new international and top scorer in the championship.
