Zinédine Zidane, Gad Elmaleh, Yannick Noah and thousands of anonymous people flocked to the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit this weekend of June 15 and 16, 2024.

According to the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, 329,000 people attended this 92nd edition of the legendary race. This is more than the centenary edition in 2023 which brought together 325,000 spectators, shattering the historic record for the race dating from 2015 (263,500 spectators). A real revival after the dull years of the covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 edition having taken place behind closed doors and that of 2021 with a capacity of only 50,000 spectators.

An exceptional platter

For the second year in a row, the race was sold out. It must be said that this year, the field was particularly strong with no less than 23 hypercars and nine manufacturers present, Alpine, BMW, Isotta-Fraschini, Lamborghini, Cadillac, Porsche, Ferrari, Toyota and Peugeot. And the rain which fell on the circuit accompanied by a strong wind did not discourage the spectators.

When Zinédine Zidane waved the tricolor flag to launch the 62 cars on Saturday at 4 p.m., the outcome of the race was undecided, despite the pole signed by the No. 6 Porsche and the Frenchman Kevin Estre. Who would win this 92nd edition? After the double clock, it was finally Ferrari and the trio Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen who climbed to the top step of the podium.
