Nearly 3,000 Saint-Etienne supporters were present on Saturday morning for the Greens' last training session before the derby against Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday evening at Groupama Stadium.
D-1 for the green people. Deprived of the derby for two seasons and banned from traveling to Lyon for the clash against Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday evening at Groupama Stadium (8:45 p.m.), Saint-Etienne supporters did not want to miss the last training session of Olivier Dall'Oglio's players. Especially since the club had exceptionally agreed to open the session to the public. Saint-Etienne fans therefore came en masse on Saturday morning to Etrat to encourage their players one last time. Fired up by their main groups of supporters, the Green Angels and Magic Fans, nearly 3,000 ebullient fans raised their voices and cracked a few fumi, before being applauded by the players.
Dall'Oglio: “The players really enjoyed it”
“The fervor, we’re right in it,” reacted Greens coach Olivier Dall’Oglio after training. “We were honored by the supporters. There were really a lot of people. The players really appreciated it. The staff too. Everyone. It's a very special moment. We're in it. We know we have a very important match. The supporters came to give us energy. We'll take it. Even if there won't be many Stéphanois at the stadium, there will be a lot of thoughts.
This is the 125th edition of this duel between the two rival clubs, with 46 victories for OL against 44 in favor of ASSE and 34 draws.
