The sports race crosses La Rochelle on Sunday November 24. A total of 15,000 people will participate. There is a classic 42 km route, but also other categories. Unless you just prefer to come and support a runner. We give you practical information.

For this 33rd edition, 8,500 brave men and women will run a little over 42 km in the streets of La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime). Also add the 3,000 people who will participate in the 10 km, 1,000 duo teams and 200 teams for the business challenge. This makes a total of “15 000 runners in all races“, according to the organizers.
The 33rd edition of the sports race will also attract many spectators this Sunday, November 24. Not to mention some traffic restrictions. Here’s what you need to know.
What are the routes?
The marathon route does not change, compared to the previous edition.

Marathon, duo, inter-company
The marathon will kick off at 9 a.m.
Pay attention to the departure point: Quai Maubec for Seniors, Masters 0 and 1 Men and Women and Business Challenge. All this, spread over four airlocks.
Same time, but departure is from Quai Louis Durand, forhe Master categories 2 to 10 Men and Women and Duo, always on four airlocks.
Special cases
- The disabled sports race begins at 8:57 a.m., departing from Quai Maubec.
- The 10 km starts at 8:45 a.m., from Avenue du Général-Leclerc.
How to get there?
By car
People who go to La Rochelle by car can use the park-and-ride facilities on the outskirts of the city center. It is Beaulieu car parks (130 spaces), Les Greffières (300 spaces), Vieljeux (60 spaces), Saint-Rogatien (20 spaces) and Simone Veil (130 spaces). Please note that all of these car parks include a total of 20 spaces for people with reduced mobility.
Regarding the starting areas and the Auction area (marathon village), the organizers distinguish several cases.
- To get to the Marathon Village, the Marathon, Duo and Challenge Entreprises starting area: park in the Vieux Port Sud car park and the Encan car park. Otherwise, Les Salines parking is free and is located a 10-minute walk from the departure point.
- For the 10 km starting zone: use the Esplanade des Parcs car park (free zone and paid zone). This parking lot is located 10 minutes walk from the departure area.
By public transport
- By TGV/TER/Intercités: the SNCF station is located 500 meters away of the marathon village and the start and finish areas.
- By bus: you can take lines 3 and 4 of the Yélo network. Get off at Aquarium to reach the marathon village. Be careful though: their route is modified on November 24, the day of the race. Remember to check the Yélo website first.
How to see the runners?
Spectators will be able to come and applaud the runners all along the route.. On arrival, uA reception area is provided. This free stand can hold 500 spectators. It is located in the Saint-Jean-d’Acre car park.
To meet the brave and courageous athletes at the finish, go to rue de la Monnaie. Columns bearing the names of the Îles de Ré, Oléron and Aix will be installed to help those accompanying them find loved ones who ran.
Please note that it is forbidden to accompany participants on the course, whatever means you intend to use.
