The Brazilian legend and Ballon d’Or in 1999 gave advice to Vinicius Junior as the latter is having a complicated start to the season.

The expected victory of Vinicius Junior at the Ballon d’Or was supposed to be a turning point in the season of the Brazilian but also of Real Madrid, instead it was just another blow for the entire White House. A defeat of nothing (41 points) which is certainly difficult to swallow for the player.

In this context, Rivaldo, titled in 1999, gave advice to Vinicius Junior in this sense. “He needs to get this Ballon d’Or thing out of his head, start playing again and play well for Real Madrid. He needs to win games after two consecutive defeats,” he told Betfair.

“Vinicius is young. He has the age and the football to overcome all that. He can win the Ballon d’Or one day. He can be the best player in the world one or more times,” he assured. “All the journalists who vote, do they really understand football? Are all these people really qualified?” he added.

According to the Brazilian, his compatriot would have been a big winner but Rodri is too. “I can’t underestimate Rodri. He’s a player I like. For me, he was my second candidate even though I felt Vinicius was the best,” Rivaldo continued.

Then, he talked about Endrick’s situation at Real Madrid, who means very little to Ancelotti. “It’s normal that Carlo Ancelotti protects Endrick. He’s an intelligent coach who will know when to give him minutes of play.

The situation is complicated at the moment in Madrid and Ancelotti is managing it intelligently. He has the future ahead of him. You have to stay calm. It’s the same for Rodrygo, sooner or later he will use all his players who lack playing time,” concluded Rivaldo.
