Last of the Top 14 at the end of the regular phase, Oyonnax will therefore go down to Pro D2. The opportunity for the Ain club to make some changes in its squad and staff.
“Oyonnax will unfortunately go down to Pro D2 but this relegation is in no way a stop to the project” communicated the Indinois club after a season ending in last place in the championship. As we know, it is often complicated for teams promoted to the elite to get through the first season. Oyonnax who is used to his descents and going up does not intend to shake up the club despite this setback.
Miotti a little tour and then leaves
But some changes have still been made official. Tommy Raynaud, indisputable at the start of the season on the left of the scrum, has gradually lost his place and will therefore leave the club with which he was French Pro D2 champion twice and played eight seasons. Arriving in the summer, opener Domingo Miotti will also pack his bags. As we announced, he should come and fill the ranks of the MHR.
On the staff side, no big changes either, only sideline coach Dewald Senekal, who has to have knee surgery, will be leaving. Valentin Ursache, former third row and local legend, will join him as “specific trainer“.
The club also announced that the departures of the two players would be quickly compensated by arrivals.
