Labruguière. Nursing homes launch into the Olympics

Inspired by the 2024 Olympic Games, three adapted physical activities (APA) teachers working in 4 nursing homes located in South Tarn, decided to involve volunteer residents in an event that says a lot: Olymp’Ehpad! For Agnès Béziat (L’Oustal d’En Thibaud in Labruguière), Alexandre Lignon (Les Grands Chênes de Saix) and Paul Garcia (John Bost Foundation in Mazamet and Sages in St-Amans-Soult) there was no question of staying inactive against Paris which will captivate all attention…

These inter-establishment Olympics are based on physical activity and conviviality. They are made up of a team of 10 residents in each nursing home. The tests combine address, mobility and motor skills, with adaptations accessible to all residents. Three major meetings have been scheduled. Those of Saint-Amans-Soult and Saïx have already taken place. For Labruguière it will be this Tuesday, June 11. The team dressed in green, each establishment using a different color, will evolve under the watchful eye of Agnès Béziat who specifies: “The tests will take place over the full day with a meal and a warm snack so that these meetings remain, before everything, friendly”.

There is no doubt that each participant will be keen to win the Olymp’Ehpad 2024, a novelty which could well last, but to know who will be on the highest step of the podium we will have to wait until the meeting on June 25 which will take place in Saint- Amans-Soult. That day, the trophy will be awarded to the super winner of this edition, knowing that other rewards should delight the competing teams!
