The Football Unis Convention, the union of professional clubs, is meeting this year in Toulouse in a very particular context: the absence of an agreement for the broadcasting of TV rights for Ligue 1. And if this theme does not appear on the program of the gathering scheduled for Tuesday June 11 and Wednesday June 12, the TV rights issue will necessarily be at the center of informal discussions between clubs, assures RMC Sport.

Vincent Labrune focused on TV rights

In this context, one man will be conspicuous by his absence: Vincent Labrune. The president of the Professional Football League (LFP), on the front line on the TV rights issue, is nevertheless a close friend of Laurent Nicollin, the president of Foot Unis. But like last year, Labrune will not be present at this gathering which will bring together representatives of all Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs – including around thirty presidents, but also the president of the French Football Federation (FFF) Philippe Diallo and representatives of FIFA.

In reality, Vincent Labrune continues his work to try to find a solution on TV rights, underlines RMC Sport. In the next ten days, the LFP is awaiting feedback from Internet service providers and all other potential distributors (DAZN, Amazon, etc.) to see how much it could receive as a guaranteed minimum on the distribution of its 100% channel. Ligue 1. Exchanges continue between the LFP and beIN Sport on this channel project.

We had anticipated, we know how to do it. Even if some people clearly want to destroy our plan B, we remain fully committed to it », reassures a Source from the LFP to RMC Sport, who notes that the only subject concerns the financial negotiation which Vincent Labrune hopes will be as interesting as possible for the clubs.
