Champions League: canceled flight blocks Brest fans leaving for Prague

Stade Brestois, a magnificent surprise in the new version of the Champions League, will have to do without some of its supporters this Wednesday evening on the Sparta Prague pitch (9 p.m.), on the occasion of the 4th day of the competition. As Le Télégramme indicates this Wednesday morning, several dozen fans are stuck in due to a flight canceled by the company Volotea, which was to provide the connection to the capital of the Czech Republic. The flight was scheduled to take off at 11:15 a.m. from Nantes airport but a strike by firefighters, an essential trade for takeoff, forced the company to cancel the flight.

“We received an email around 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, which told us that, due to a firefighters’ strike at Nantes airport, our Volotea plane was canceled,” explains a supporter to Le Télégramme. For some, a fallback solution was found… before another disappointment. Another flight, from the company EasyJet, was scheduled for 10:35 a.m. but it was also canceled by an email sent during the night, to the great dismay of supporters. They must therefore abandon their idea of going to Prague or find another solution: go by car to and board another plane.

Brest is still undefeated this season in the Champions League after three matches. He has two victories against Sturm Graz (2-1), Salzburg (4-0) and a draw against Bayer Leverkusen (1-1). After this trip to Prague, Éric Roy’s men will challenge a completely different client: FC Barcelona, on November 26.
