With only three Grands Prix remaining this season, the vast majority of driver pairs for the 2025 season are already known. But the Swiss Sauber team announced this Wednesday, November 6, the departure of its two current drivers: the Finn Valtteri Bottas and the Chinese Zhou Guanyu.
Nico Hülkenberg arrive
If the departure of Zhou Guanyu no longer caused too much doubt, that of Valtteri Bottas is not more surprising. “ After open and constructive discussions with Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, we mutually concluded that the conditions to continue together could not be met and therefore agreed that it was time to part ways »wrote the team on X.
Neither driver has scored a single point in twenty-one race weekends, and the team is therefore last in the constructors’ standings with 0 points, far behind Williams (17 points) and Racing Bulls (42 points). ).

To replace these two drivers, Sauber, which will become Audi in 2026, can already count on German driver Nico Hülkenberg. The driver currently with Haas is having a very good season, and is placed tenth in the drivers’ standings (31 points). It remains to be seen who will accompany him in 2025. Frenchman Théo Pourchaire is still a reserve at Sauber, but seems far from a seat for next season.
