Jeremy Davidson, Castres manager: “There is a lot of disappointment”

Jeremy Davidson, Castres manager:There is a lot of disappointment because we followed the other results and we believed in them in the end. We managed to reverse the trend in Bayonne, we showed a lot of character to win here. It’s a great result after a very good week of work. Unfortunately, three minutes from the end, Racing took this bonus from La Rochelle and qualification eluded us. But if we look further, it is other matches which weighed us down during the season. Those we lost at home (three home defeats against Perpignan, Racing and Clermont) and this defeat at Oyonnax (22-19, April 27). It put us in this situation, we could have been better placed before this last day. It’s a shame but we’re very happy to have finished with a great away victory. »

Grégory Patat, Bayonne manager:This end of the season disappoints me because there was room to do better. At 17-6 at halftime, we must know how to win the match. We dominated our subject, we didn’t see much of the Castres but we put them back in the match with our indiscipline and our lack of efficiency. The biggest regret was last week (defeat at Oyonnax 27-20). Even this evening (Saturday evening), I didn’t find a bench that brought anything. I’m a little disappointed about that. We wanted to make a success of our exit, so it’s frustrating. I thanked the group in the locker room, we had a difficult season but we were in the race for the top 8 until the 25th day. I didn’t want to do a quick assessment, we’ll do that later. It’s a shame that the season ended with these two defeats. Over these last two matches, I have not seen our character and our habits. We are twelfth, we have what we deserve. Watch out for the rest… »
