Amara Diouf, young Senegalese Football prodigy, won her dispute against her club, Génération Foot. On October 8, the National Dispute Resolution Chamber of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) ruled in his favor, thus making it possible to limit the duration of his contract with the club.
Signed on November 14, 2022 when he was only 14 years old, the initial lease provided for a duration of four years, with an unconditional extension of two years. This contract would therefore have bound Diouf until 2028, a situation that his representatives contested with the FSF. According to DSports, Amara Diouf’s advisors based their argument on article 18 of the FIFA regulations, which stipulates that a minor player cannot sign a contract for a period exceeding three years.

In addition, the Senegalese Professional Football League (LSFP) recently introduced a regulation limiting the contracts of minor players to a maximum duration of two years from the 2024-2025 season, thus making certain contracts non-compliant. The National Dispute Resolution Chamber ruled that Amara Diouf’s contract with Génération Foot, although it remains valid, cannot exceed a duration of three years. Consequently, the young player will be released from any commitment with the club at the end of the 2024-2025 season. This decision paves the way for a potential signing for another club, once he recovers from his knee surgery.
However, a last resort remains possible: the two parties could come together to negotiate a new agreement, thus allowing Génération Foot to receive financial compensation in the event of a possible transfer. However, Amara Diouf’s entourage seems to have already decided to put an end to this collaboration with the Garnets, thus marking the end of this first stage in the promising career of the young Senegalese talent.
