Ronaldinho, former Brazilian Soccer star and world champion in the discipline in 2002, will be visiting Quebec this November 30. Its presence here is linked to a pilot project of futsal (indoor soccer) in schools.
The announcement will be made late Wednesday morning in the presence of the mayor of Quebec, Bruno Marchand.
Thanks to his exceptional technique, Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, alias Ronaldinho, now 44 years old, is considered one of the best to have touched a soccer ball.
His flourishing career, during which he played for such prestigious clubs as FC Barcelona, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, culminated when he won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002.

After an exceptional career in soccer, Ronaldinho converted to Futsal (indoor soccer involving teams of five players each). In this sport, videos showing his natural talent and magical dribbling are all the rage on social media. According to our information, the Brazilian star’s visit to Quebec has a link with Futsal.
In a letter obtained by the Journal and sent this summer by Mayor Marchand to the foundation of the star Brazilian player, we can read that “the City of Quebec, in concert with PHIT CANADA, is fully committed to collaborating with GOL ILUNINADO FOUNDATION doing business as ‘Champions For Peace’ to implement R10 FUTSAL programs in schools as a ‘pilot project’ launching PHIT CANADA programs in the province of Quebec and across Canada.
Recalling that Quebec will host the Canada Games in 2027, the mayor writes, in his missive, that “the City of Quebec would like to announce a collaboration with R10 FUTSAL and the ideals of ‘Play with pleasure, be magical’ within the framework of a ‘Ronaldinho Day’.
