Taylor Fritz and his partner Morgan Riddle were victims of an attempted burglary in the Airbnb accommodation they occupied in London this weekend. Described as “dangerous” by Riddle, the platform is committed to carrying out its investigation.
Exited in the 2nd round of the Rolex Paris Masters, Taylor Fritz flew to another capital immediately. The 6th player in the world, qualified for the Turin Masters, landed in London where he experienced a funny mishap last week. Morgan Riddle, the companion of the American player, told the story of an attempted break-in to which the couple was the victim on Saturday morning, in the Airbnb accommodation they occupied.
Morgan Riddle had already made headlines with some of his Instagram stories going viral on the web. It was again through this social network that she recounted this ordeal this weekend. Several individuals apparently intended to enter their homes in the middle of the night.
“At 4 a.m. this morning, Taylor and I are woken up by someone trying to enter the code and force the front door of the Airbnb we’re staying at in London. I tell Taylor to run and lock the second lock because they are standing outside trying to get in and SHE WAS KICKED OFF???,” she posted on Instagram.
“Airbnb is dangerous”
Determined to do battle with the attackers, Taylor Fritz armed himself with a weapon… unconventional, but much more natural for a tennis player. “Of all the potential weapons in this house, this man grabs a racket,” Morgan Riddle seemed to lament on Instagram. The incident fortunately ended without clashes or injuries, only one insect lost its life in this story.
In any case, this attempted burglary does not seem to have spoiled their stay in London since Riddle shared photos of his brunch a few hours later, on Saturday. This is obviously not the first time that the couple has had problems like this. Morgan Riddle revealed she’s had similar experiences in the past, and caught someone burglarizing their home just this summer.
She implored her followers to stay in hotels “especially if you’re traveling alone or with girls.” “Airbnb is so dangerous. They are targeted in many cities. I swore I wouldn’t stay there again, but I clearly didn’t learn my lesson,” she said.
“We take reports like this seriously and are actively investigating this incident. We are grateful to know that Morgan and Taylor are safe and sound, and we have contacted them to provide a full refund and further assistance, particularly in terms of rebooking,” a spokesperson for the Airbnb platform told Fox News and Sports Illustrated.
