Sergio Pérez finished 11th in the Sao Paulo Grand Prix after starting in 11th place, while his teammate Max Verstappen started 15th and won the race. After his eighth place in the Sprint, he scored a single point over the weekend in Brazil.
“Nothing really worked today, we started the race with cold tires because we didn’t know at that time that we could change them, like everyone else did. And without a car in front , I had a lot of skating” said Pérez, listing all his difficulties in the race.
“Then I spun at turn 10, it was a disaster. Then we stopped before the red flag… nothing worked! In the end, we came back up, we made good restarts I fought with Lawson and lost a place to Lewis going straight into turn 4.
The Mexican driver, however, assures that Red Bull is returning to the best, despite his personal performances: “I think we’re making progress, the weekend was stronger than the result suggests. That’s what’s positive.”
