Geneva and its right bank woke up on Sunday morning to the rhythm of 20km. More than 7,000 runners crisscrossed the different towns along the route which alternated between town and countryside.
It’s a meeting that has become unmissable. For its 7th edition, the 20km of Geneva was full, with a new registration record. On arrival, pride and smiles predominated.
“We had a lot of fun, long live running” exclaims a runner at the finish after 1h38 of effort. “We have increased the number of runners by 22% this year. There are 7,300 registered for all races, so it’s really good,” rejoices Jean-Marc Guinchard, president of the race.
A hilly course
With a start on the quays, runners then join the Geneva countryside. Chambésy, Bellevue then Genthod…A bucolic but hilly route.
“It’s hilly, it goes up, it goes down…” breathes a runner. “It’s uphill at the beginning but then it’s just fun,” continues another runner.
The Sunday runners took turns all day long to finish with the junior race formats. Something new this year, which offers the organization a certain sustainability. There is no doubt that the registration record should fall in future editions.
