While Luis Enrique has reached an agreement to extend with PSG for two seasons, it is the other Luis of the duo, sports director Campos, who is in negotiations to extend. But he also wants a raise to continue in Paris.
The Luis Enrique/Luis Campos duo experienced their second summer transfer window together at the head of PSG and, unlike most of the club's QSI version, there is no question of bickering between the two men. On the contrary, since the Spanish coach publicly supported the Portuguese sports director: “I started this project with Luis Campos. It was with him that I did my interview when I arrived. We don't know what will happen in the future, but very clearly I would like this future to be written with Luis Campos and his entire team and I have no doubt about that. »
The future of Luis Enrique at PSG is already settled: he has extended it by two years, until 2027, and all that is missing is the formalization of his contract extension. That of Luis Campos is less certain but PSG would like to continue with the same duo and the Portuguese sporting director has an offer of the same duration on the table: two more years of contract, knowing that his current lease ends next June like the initial one of Luis Enrique.
An increased duo to continue at PSG?
At PSG, we are convinced that Campos will extend like Luis Enrique, but there are still important points to resolve. According to Le Parisien, it is notably a question of salary. At the time of his extension, Luis Enrique was increased and Luis Campos would therefore also like to be entitled to an increase, and of the same percentage as that of the Spanish coach. A duo matched on all levels therefore, knowing that the Portuguese, like the Spaniard, rather wishes to continue in Paris.
Because if the sports director sometimes has tense relations with the administrative part of the club and cultivates a secret that not everyone appreciates, he also has the support of the Qatari shareholder and that is no small thing in Paris. His relationship with Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is fluctuating, although rather positive overall, but the emir is said to be satisfied with the work in general, which is probably the best thing there is to last in Paris.
To resolve financial concerns, it is generally also very good support.
