Manchester United have announced the arrival of Ruben Amorim as head coach. He replaces Erik ten Hag.
A few days ago, Manchester United announced the dismissal ofErik ten Hag. The Dutchman had been in an ejection seat for several weeks.
Arriving from Ajax Amsterdam in July 2022, ten Hag will have disappointed many supporters and will not have managed to win any major titles – apart from an FA Cup and a League Cup.
To replace him, a name was at the top of the list. That of Reuben Amorimcoach of Sporting Portugal and the Belgian international Zeno Debast.
His appointment was made official this Friday afternoon. He signed a contract until June 30, 2027 “with an option for an additional year, once he has fulfilled his obligations to his current club”, explains the press release. “He will join Manchester United on Monday November 11.”
“Ruben is one of the most exciting and highly regarded young coaches in European football. Highly regarded as a player and manager, he notably won the Primeira Liga twice in Portugal with Sporting CP, the first being the first club title for 19 years”, rejoiced the English club.
