Limoges CSP: D-day for the transfer of 5 million dollars?

This Tuesday is another important day for the Limoges CSP, since it is the date on which the Limougeaud basketball club is supposed to receive the transfer of 5 million dollars from an obscure investor, as its owner Céline Forte announced during her last hearing before the DNCCG. This hypothetical windfall would allow him to formulate a voluntary appeal before the financial policeman of the basketball league, who decided to downgrade the CSP among amateurs. If the money does not arrive, Céline Forte has promised to choose between two other projects, but this would not happen without clashes, as her personality crystallizes criticism.

With or without Céline Forte?

Among the two other scenarios, there is always the option of Lionel Peluhet, an executive at Intermarché, whose takeover offer has so far been rejected by the owner of the club, or the path of a businessman who owns already several sports clubs around the world, according to Céline Forte. But if it keeps control of the CSP, it risks losing certain financiers, starting with the local communities who stand together to make her leave. Intermarché, the first private partner for years, also has little chance of staying if Lionel Peluhet is rejected again.

Other current partners of Limoges CSP have already decided that they will not put their hand in their pocket if Céline Forte remains at the head of the club. This is the case of the company Catalent, which donated around 70,000 euros this season. Its manager, Florent Mourieras, believes that “What is happening today is completely in contradiction with the attractiveness of the territory. Consequently, if it were the Forte clan who were to continue with the CSP project, Catalent would withdraw completely.” The business manager considers that it does not serve the interests of the club and insists: “You have to know how to recognize your mistakes and your failures at a given moment, in order to move on.”
