Freshly recalled from the American League, Matt Rempe quickly returned to service with the New York Rangers.
Early in the first period, the popular brawler delivered a fairly lively heavyweight fight to colossus Dylan McIlrath of the Washington Capitals.

Demoted last Friday, Rempe was recalled by the Rangers on Monday. The 6’9″, 225 lb giant played two games with the New York team’s farm club, the Hartford Wolf Pack.
His debut in the NHL left no one indifferent last season. A somewhat daredevil fighter with technique to refine, Rempe quickly became a fan favorite in New York.
On the scoreboard, it was the Capitals who won by a score of 5 to 3. Alexander Ovechkin also scored two goals, he who now has 857 career successes in the Bettman circuit. He is only 38 lengths behind Wayne Gretzky, who holds the record for the most goals scored in league history.
The Washington team will face the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.
