Initially scheduled for Wednesday, the fights will finally start on Saturday. This Friday, the boxers will know their opponents during the official draw.
Due to the late arrival of some delegations, the official launch of the competition was postponed. The fights will take place in the twin gymnasium of the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecost. In total, 31 countries will take part in the 21st edition of the African Boxing Championships.
The technical meeting of all delegations will take place at 4 p.m. One hour later, the official draw for the competition will be made.
The Senegalese delegation arrived in Kinshasa on Tuesday morning. In total, 11 athletes will be competing including the recent Kickboxing World Champion Mouhamed Tafsir Ba. Senegal will be competing in nearly ten categories.
