Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech, a player for Turkish club Galatasaray, has started to think about leaving the team in the upcoming winter transfer window, after his humble beginnings this season and strained relations with the club’s management.
Ziyech, injured at the start of the season, was unable to perform at the expected level with Galatasaray, as he only played four matches in all competitions without scoring a goal. These negative results have affected his place in the team which strives for success at national and European level.
Ziyech’s future is at Galatasaray
Ziyech, 31, is under contract with Galatasaray until June 30, 2025. However, it seems that the club has also opted for his departure, wishing to benefit financially from his departure.
Reports have confirmed that his contract provides for an automatic one-year extension if he plays in 50 percent of official matches, but the club has no plans to activate this option.
New offers
Turkish newspaper ‘Milliyet’ reported that Ziyech had received offers from Gulf clubs, but chose to stay in the Turkish League.
However, a new potential destination has emerged, as his agent negotiates with American clubs who want to include the Moroccan star in the next transfer window, making his move to the ‘MLS’ league likely.
During his career in Galatasaray, Ziyech participated in 27 matches in which he scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists, while his current market value remains around 7 million euros.
