Yacine Titraoui, former Paradou AC nugget, was transferred this summer to Sporting Charleroi in Belgium, marking his departure from Algeria and the start of his first European experience. However, the Algerian midfielder’s adaptation to Belgian football seems more complicated than expected.
Indeed, the native of M’Sila is struggling to get playing time. Since his arrival, Titraoui made only four appearances in Jupiler Pro League, accumulating a total of only 40 minutes spread over 10 championship days. His minutes of play are limited to 6, 2, 18 et 14 minutes during these meetings. He has not set foot on the grounds of the Belgian first division for a month now, a sign of a slower integration than expected.
In addition to his rare appearances in the championshipTitraoui also played a full match with the U21 team of Charleroiin the third division, on September 1. This 90-minute match represents his only significant playing time since his arrival.
Despite this mixed start, the club coach, Rik De Milseems to remain optimistic about the potential of Titraoui. In a statement made at the start of the season, Of a thousand had expressed his admiration for the young player: « I have already spoken with him, he is a very humble, kind and intelligent person. We see that Yacine has good technical qualities. He arrived physically ready, that says a lot about his state of mind. It’s going to take a little time to adjustbut I’m glad he’s here. »
It is therefore obvious that the Belgian coach is closely monitoring the evolution of Titraoui in training and wants to give him time to fully adapt to the European style of play before offering him a more important place in his plans. Despite this complicated start to the season, it is certain that the 21-year-old Algerian player has the necessary qualities to ultimately establish himself and become an asset for the Zebras.
It only remains to hope that the Algerian talent can quickly integrate and find a place in the starting lineup, having already demonstrated great things during his previous seasons in Algeria with the Paradou.
