“I haven’t decided or signed anything. Next week, we’re going to sit at a table with the president (from Bologna, Joey Saputo, Editor’s note), to reach a decision together. We will then communicate it to you together”he declared at a press conference two days before his team’s match counting for the 37e day of the Italian Championship, precisely against Juventus Turin.

Bologna qualified for the Champions League

“It will come, you have to be patient. I will make my decision with the greatest respect I have for this club, for my president and for my players.”he continued.

The former Italian international, 41, is coming to the end of his contract with Bologna, his club since 2022. Under his leadership, Bologna, 3e of Serie A, ahead of Juve, qualified for the first time in its history for the Champions League. The Italian press has been presenting the former Paris SG player as the future coach of Juve for several weeks.

The most successful club in Italian football fired its coach since 2021 Massimiliano Allegri on Friday, two days after his victory in the 2024 Italian Cup marked by the Italian technician’s bloody attacks against the referees, a Juve manager and the director of daily sports Tuttosport .

Motta did not wish to say more about his future and focused on his team’s next match against Juventus who have won only two league matches since the end of January.

“Juve is a strong team, which has just won the Italian Cup in a deserved way against one of the best teams in our championship (Atalanta 1 to 0, Editor’s note), I expect to face a strong team”he indicated.

“As with all the coaches and colleagues who are going through this, I have also experienced this, I wish Allegri good luck for the future”concluded the Brazilian-Italian technician.
