Despite his serious fall in the Tour of the Basque Country, Remco Evenepoel began his preparation for the Tour de France, his big goal of the season.

For several weeks, Evenepoel has been trying to convince his teammate to come and support him in the Tour de France. “I would love to have Julian Alaphilippe with me on the Tour,” said Remco at the end of Paris-Nice last March.
The two men maintain a friendly relationship and the presence of Alaphilippe alongside Evenepoel would also be well received by the sporting management of Soudal Quick-Step.
