This Tuesday, the New Orleans Gold formalized the signing of third line Kélian Galletier. At 32, the French international (6 caps) is launching a new challenge in the United States.
Free from any contract since the end of his adventure with Usap last June, Kélian Galletier has found a club. The international flanker signed with the American franchise New Orleans Gold.
Former MHR player, Galletier will therefore play in MLR in 2025 and 2026 since he has signed up for two seasons. In the columns of Midi Libre, the third row explained his choice: “ I had several touches, a lot of exchanges. It is Nicolas Gaudignon (former coach of Brive and Pau in particular) who is sports director there, who leads the project and who had an interest in me, particularly for my experience. This MLR is getting stronger from year to year, it still really has very good potential. They also have the objective of organizing the World Cup in 2031, to structure the entire country in relation to its rugby culture. Personally, it’s interesting to see, in terms of enrichment, to see how they work.”
To see Galletier on the pitches of the American championship, you will have to wait until January since the seasons take place between January and June on the other side of the Atlantic.
