“The 2024 season was my most accomplished season, with this crystal globe that had made me dream of for years, smiles Savoyard snowboarder Chloé Trespeuch. All these little challenges that I set for 2024 have been fulfilled.”
Once the 2024 financial year ended, the Olympic vice-champion had only one idea in mind: to put it back in 2025 to defend her title. Except that ultimately, Chloé Trespeuch is going to take a little break, and it won’t be to go on vacation.
“The plans changed because after this crystal globe, there was another project that came. It was the maternity break for this year 2025, to return later to the Olympic Games in 2026enthuses the high-level athlete. A new challenge, less sporting but just as big and which also makes you dream.”
Chloé Trespeuch will therefore be a mother. But for all that, there is no question of her letting go. The snowboarder therefore continues to prepare conscientiously, maintaining a high level of physical activity.
“There are several issues: supporting Chloé as best as possible during her pregnancy, allowing her to maintain important athletic qualities for the future resumption of her activity”says Quentin Giacomazzo, physical trainer.
The cross snowboarder spares no effort. “It teaches you to listen. But in fact, it’s good to be accompanied: you adapt according to the situationshe testifies. We slow down, but we slow down as little as possible.”
“We must keep in mind that, as long as the pregnancy is not at risk, everything is fine, we must promote and maintain the development of physical qualities in athletes”completes Quentin Giacomazzo.
“It is important for the success of a pregnancy and for the baby that is being built inside me that I am completely fulfilled, that I continue to have my physical activity which makes me happy every daysupports the Olympic medalist. I’m not hurt, not sick. All this work will allow me to come back faster. It’s certain that I no longer seek performance, high level all the time. But on the other hand I am looking for maintenance.”
For six months, the high-level athlete and the mother-to-be have been a pair in the same body, harmoniously. Chloé Trespeuch is getting in shape and staying in shape in anticipation of her return to the circuit. But it won’t be this winter.
“The plan can still move because it’s a new situation, but the baby is coming in early January.” Olympic runner-up hopes to get back to sliding “a march”, “after a good rehabilitation phase”and counts “resuming with the French team group from April, to prepare for the Olympic Games in 2026”.
A third participation in the Games in sight, a baby to come. Chloé’s future is bright. The snowboarder points out that high-level athletes are no longer forced to stop their careers to become mothers.
