Anderlecht sold Zeno Debast to Sporting CP last summer for a tidy sum but no major transfer was completed. This could change during the next transfer window.
Mario Stroeykens, for example, could well become the next player from the Brussels training center to bring in a lot of money. The 20-year-old striker and midfielder was already known as an exceptional talent in his youth.
His debut with the A team therefore did not take long. Under the leadership of the coach at the time, Vincent Kompany, Stroeykens played his first minutes with the big boys at the age of 16.

He initially oscillated between the first team and the RSCA Futures. In the meantime, his contract has been extended until mid-2026. Last season, Stroeykens finally moved into the A core.
In total, the young player played around forty matches. Although he showed signs of his undeniable qualities at times, Stroeykens failed to establish himself as a full-fledged player in the team. Since then, things have changed. Indeed, this season, the young Belgian international has become one of the leading figures of the team.
A high-level transfer inevitable
If Stroeykens continues his progression and further improves his statistics, there is no doubt that he will end up being the subject of an interesting transfer. If his current contract is not renewed, the RSCA will even be forced to let him leave next summer at the latest. In any case, there is no lack of interest.
His performances, particularly at European level, will undoubtedly have been noticed by various recruiters. The first candidate even seems to be known. Les Jeunes Footeux report that Stroeykens is now in the crosshairs of Olympique de Marseille.
First attempt in January?
The current number three in Ligue 1, who offer attractive football under the leadership of coach Roberto De Zerbi, have prematurely ended the engagement of Valentin Carboni due to a serious injury. Additionally, Amine Harrit would be sold. To compensate for this loss, OM would like to recruit a new attacking midfielder and one of their targets would be Stroeykens.
