A participant in Tout court suffers a cardiac arrest near the finish line

This Sunday, October 13, 2024 in (Ille-et-Vilaine), around 11:15 a.m., a 29-year-old runner collapsed 100 m from the finish line of the Tout half-marathon (21 km). Rennes runs. Victim of a cardiac arrest and taken care of by the Samu, his life would no longer be in danger.

This Sunday at 9 a.m., there were 7,000 runners at the start of the Tout Rennes court half-marathon (21 km), on the Boulevard de la Tour d’Auvergne in Rennes. More than two hours later, rue d’Isly, 100 m from the finish line, at the Esplanade de Gaulle, a participant, aged 29, collapsed, suffering from illness.

His days would no longer be in danger

Immediately rescued by Red Cross volunteers, the young man was taken care of by a Samu team who managed to restore him, even though he was in cardiac arrest. Transported to the Pontchaillou hospital center, his life would no longer be in danger.
