With mountain biking, our federation is going through dark days. And as is often the case in these cases, we impatiently wait for a glimmer of hope. But with this discipline, we have absolutely nothing to hope for. The latest example? Loana Lecomte.

Loana Lecomte makes it last pleasure mountain bike nightmare

Only a few days after her odious victory in Mont-Saint-Anne in the MTB World Cup, Loana Lecomte competed in the Ford Roc Marathon du Roc d’Azur in Fréjus. A 103 km long race, with the added bonus of an elevation gain of 2,700 meters to please the thighs and calves. While it was the 25-year-old Frenchwoman’s first participation in a marathon, we were hoping for an anonymous first. She herself had no higher expectations than that. What a professional poker face.

“It’s the first time in my life that I’m going to do a marathon. It’s going to be a good experience. We’ll see what that will give” Loana Lecomte

A suitable way to make us believe that she will not play for the win, when it was exactly the opposite. After 5 hours and 17 minutes of effort, Loana Lecomte won the race with, get this, 23 minutes ahead of her pursuer, the Italian Sandra Mairhofer. We would like to play on words and say that Lecomte is good, but he is not at all. The only good news of the day? This is the end of his season.

“Now it’s vacation!” Loana Lecomte
