Second complicated outing for Alex Sarr and Bilal Coulibaly • Basket USA

If the Wizards had taken the water collectively against the Raptors, for their first preseason match, Alex Sarr et Bilal Coulibaly had for their part been rather solid. Facing the Knicks, for Washington’s second outing in preparation, the Wizards sank again (117-94)… and the two Frenchmen suffered.

Certainly, the second choice of the last Draft finished very close to the “double-double” (12 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks), but only 5/14 shooting, also losing 3 balls.

Two roles for Alex Sarr

Interesting on his cuts in attack and his assists in defense, Alex Sarr was on the other hand put under pressure on his dribble, being intercepted by OG Anunoby who could go on a counter-attack in stride. Blocked by Josh Hart near the circle, he alternated between a strong winger role alongside Jonas Valanciunas with the starters, and pivot with the substitutes, where he suffered when Karl-Anthony Towns found rhythm.

At his side, Bilal Coulibaly had an even more difficult evening. Responsible for slowing down Jalen Brunson, he had a lot of difficulty facing his opponent’s feints, and also tried too hard to force things in attack. He therefore finished the match with 4 points, 1/9 shooting including 0/4 from distance, 9 rebounds and 5 fouls.

On the Knicks side, we will note the developing understanding between Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, particularly on the pick-and-roll, as well as the energy of the Cameron Payne – Tyler Kolek duo coming off the bench.
