University professor, Thibault Christophe turned his love for the music of Jean-Jacques Goldman into a book that reached the star.

The resident tells “Bonjour! La Matinale TF1” about his “very, very great emotion” upon discovering the letter his idol wrote to him.

It’s a letter that he never imagined finding in his mailbox. A great admirer of Jean-Jacques Goldman, Thibault Christophe had the immense surprise of finding a handwritten letter from the famous singer. A note of thanks to the one who, under the pseudonym LT, published a novel inspired by his own relationship to the artist’s work.

“It really talks about very personal anecdotes, about how I discovered him, how I connected with his music, how I listened to it thousands of times”tells “Bonjour! La Matinale TF1” the Toulouse resident about a book entitled Journal d’un fan (editions of Caillou).

Thibault Christophe speaks of a “very very great emotion” when discovering the name of Jean-Jacques Goldman on the letterhead. “It’s the Holy Grail for a fan when he receives something from his idol,” he notes. He managed to send his novel to the star thanks to his fan club. He had attached a little note which “very touched” its recipient. “I wish you one day to read such a kind, moving letter and to inspire in your turn”the interpreter of “I give you” wrote to him, wishing “nice road” to the university professor.

This is all that Thibault Christophe will agree to share about this letter which he will keep all the more preciously as the words of Jean-Jacques Goldman are rare. Retired from public life for almost ten years, the 72-year-old singer wrote a new song for a CM1 class in Vénissieux. A project that remained secret for two years and which caused a lot of talk.
