It was obviously a difficult decision to make. But everything has a beginning and an end in life. And now is the right time. My career has been long and much more accomplished than I expected.”
Before continuing. “I am very happy that my last tournament will be the Davis Cup, under the colors of my country. I’m coming full circle because one of my first fond memories in the world of tennis was the 2004 final in Seville. I feel very lucky to have known everything I have known“.
Without forgetting his lifelong rivals. “I want to thank them, I spent so many hours with them. I experienced moments that I will never forget.”
