Walid Regragui, boss of the Atlas Lions, is, according to a paper recently published by Le Monde, the fourth highest paid coach in Africa.
The highest paid coach is Vladimir Petkovic, Algeria coach, who receives a monthly salary of 135,000 euros. Bosno-Switzerland remains far from the 205,000 euros that Djamel Belmadi, African champion in 2019, received after being eliminated in the first round of CAN 2023 in Ivory Coast.
Belgian Hugo Broos, coach of South Africa, earns 75,000 euros, as much as Emerse Faé, coach of Ivory Coast and reigning African champion.
Walid Regragui, semi-finalist of the 2022 World Cup, occupies fourth position with a salary of 70,000 euros per month.
Aliou Cissé, former coach of Senegal, received 46,000 euros per month, compared to 45,300 euros for the Ghanaian Otto Addo and 44,000 euros for the Belgian Marc Brys who is at the head of Cameroon.
In Sudan, the Ghanaian James Kwesi Appiah receives 48,000 euros, while in Egypt Hossam Hassam’s salary amounts to 30,000 euros. In Tunisia, Faouzi Benzarti receives 10,000 euros, the same as Brama Traoré in Burkina Faso.
The Belgian Tom Saintfiet, coach of Mali, receives 20,000 euros, the same salary as the Comorian Amir Abdou, who coaches Mauritania.
