Arber Xhekaj unwanted in Chicago: Lane Hutson or Logan Mailloux to convince the Hawks

Arber

Unfortunately for him, he became an unwanted person in the Windy City. His two damaged shoulders have seriously tarnished his value on the transaction market, leaving the CH in a delicate position as it seeks to obtain the second pick in the next draft to select Ivan Demidov.

Rumors are rife, claiming that Montreal is ready to trade Xhekaj as well as the 5th overall pick to convince Chicago to give up the Russian prodigy.

However, the Hawks won’t be easily convinced by a player whose value is plummeting. Despite the Canadian’s efforts, it is clear that Xhekaj will not be enough to convince Chicago to sacrifice Demidov.

According to rumors circulating, the only way to persuade the Blackhawks would be to include either Logan Mailloux or Lane Hutson, in addition to the 5th pick.

It’s a high price to pay, but Demidov is considered a rare gem, which would make the trade potentially justifiable in GM Kyle Davidsom’s eyes.

This is a delicate situation for the CH. Trading one of his top prospects on the blue line is a considerable risk, but the prospect of acquiring a talent like Demidov comes once in a lifetime.

Another option on the table for the Montreal Canadiens would be to include Mike Matheson in the trade, alongside Arber Xhekaj and the 5th round pick, in an attempt to convince Chicago to trade Demidov.

Some believe the Blackhawks could be interested in an experienced defenseman like Matheson. However, a realistic analysis of the situation shows that the Hawks are not in an immediate position to go for victory, making the acquisition of Matheson relatively useless for them.

Although Matheson brings experience and depth to the defense, he is not the piece that makes sense for a rebuilding team like Chicago.

The Hawks clearly have different priorities, focused on developing young talent and building a solid foundation for the future.

So while Matheson’s inclusion in the deal might seem appealing to some, the reality is that it probably wouldn’t be enough to entice Chicago to trade Demidov.

The Blackhawks need young players and draft picks to bolster their roster long-term, which makes the proposition involving Matheson less appealing overall.

Against this backdrop, the Canadian finds himself in a tricky position, desperate to find the right balance between offering enough to get Demidov while preserving his key assets for the future.

The only way to convince Chicago? Offer Lane Hutson or Logan Mailloux with the 5th overall pick. It is the only way…
