Lively controversy between LFI and Carole Delga

#OCCITANIA. The LFI candidate for the European elections, Rima Hassan, published a tweet with a photo of the regional president at the podium of a meeting accompanied by this mention: “Delga, PS: Yes, pro-Palestinian demonstrations must be banned in France”, announces the Dépêche du Midi. Rima Hassan comments by writing: “The colonial left”.

Carole Delga responded on X to denounce “a montage, a fake”. The photo is very real and was taken at the meeting of PS candidate Raphaël Glucksmann in Tournefeuille, on Sunday March 24. But the regional president did not say this sentence at that time. It was in a completely different context, on October 12, 2023, on Sud Radio, five days after the Hamas attack against Israel. In her response to Rima Hassan, Carole Delga clearly points out that “emotion has not allowed, to date, to hold demonstrations without risk to security and public order.”

Olympic hopes, Ukrainian sisters in training

#NIMES. The young Aleksiiva twins, young artistic swimming prodigies from Ukraine, are in full Olympic preparation. They stopped at the Nemausa swimming pool. Maryna and Vladyslava Zleksiiva, 22, from Kharkiv, moved to Italy when the war broke out.

A respite from the chaos but worry deep in my heart. They return to Ukraine after six months, to Kharkhiv, home, then very quickly to kyiv, much further from the front line.

Already bronze medalists at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, and several times European champions, they hope for a medal at the Paris Olympics and will swim in pairs at the Saint-Denis aquatic center.

Illegal walk?

#VIAS. The town and its mayor, Jordan Dartier, were condemned on Tuesday May 7 by the Montpellier criminal court for having built a concrete promenade on the seafront and an adjoining 6,200 m2 car park. A conviction judged “copy” by France Nature Environnement, which had filed a civil suit. “This construction is in violation of the Littoral law and also violates the PPRI (Flood Risk Prevention Plan)”, indicates Simon Popy, president of FNE OcMed.

The mayor disagrees. “This walk has made it possible to reclassify the seaside resort and is part of the Littoral 21 plan.” The work was subsidized by the State, the Region and the Department. The city and the mayor appealed.

The number of the day: 103

#CAP D’AGDE. 103 exhibitors are present for the 15th edition of Vinocap which opened its doors yesterday. The opportunity for locals and the many tourists present to taste local wines and talk about them with the winegrowers.

Thousands of people flocked to the quays this Thursday morning to take advantage of this friendly meeting. Present at the inauguration, the prefect defended a “militant act for our winegrowers”.

Vans designed here

#MILLAU All-terrain vans “as stylish as they are durable, designed to explore the most remote places…”, this is the new concept launched by the small company Javan Campers which after a year of development begins the production of its “converted vans of tomorrow, energy autonomous and economical.”

Established in the business village for two months, Aurélie Pirès, Patrice Pons and Christophe Boissière make up this trio of young entrepreneurs who demonstrate solid knowledge in modular housing. Cost: €99,000.
