NHL: Avalanche trade Erik Brannstrom to Vancouver Canucks

Defenseman Erik Brannstrom only spent time with the Colorado Avalanche who traded him to the Vancouver Canucks.

In return, Colorado gets guard Tucker Poolman and a 2025 fourth-round pick.

Vancouver will keep 20% of Poolman’s salary.

Brannstrom, 25, had just joined the Colorado organization, which signed him to a contract last July. As soon as acquired, his name was placed on waivers by the Canucks.

The former Vegas first-round pick in 2017 has played a total of 266 career games, recording seven goals and 62 assists with the Ottawa Senators, who acquired his services in the Mark Stone trade in 2019.

As for Poolman, he scored six goals and had 17 assists in 163 career games with the Winnipeg Jets and Canucks.

“Erik is a dynamic skater and a talented player who adds depth to our defense,” said Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin. It is extremely unfortunate that Tucker was unable to continue his career here due to injury and we wish him nothing but the best for the future. »
